As I kissed my children good night tonight I was filled with such amazement as
I thought of the life I get to live... it is so good! Every good and perfect
gift comes from above. Which allows us to experience a bit of heaven on
earth.
It was sweet to get a new perspective from
God, 'cause some things in my life such as finances and sickness have been a
burden to me over the last while. Have you ever heard this, "Instead of telling
God how big your problems are, try telling your problems how big God
is!"
Maybe that cold coffee drink did affect
me this evening...every one is in bed asleep, and I decided to write for a
bit.
I was also on my way out to the suburban
with sanitizing wipes to wipe down all surfaces; I got the thing swept out
finally.
It was my intention for a week or two
to get it swept.
I was considering sitting on my bed later
then with the school book catalog and starting to write down the books we need
to order some time in April!
My dear husband is home tonight, after
flying to Texas and driving back with his new (2003 Chevy) truck. It sure seems
new to us considering our 1996 vehicles. :) Maybe tomorrow he can take us all
on a little drive. We are staying home from church for the third week in a row.
Strep throat attacked again on Friday, hitting Eric for the second time. The
infections have been about a week apart. We have never experienced a quarantine
like this....we kept clearing our schedules. Cancelling all kinds of things such
as Mom's groups, trips to Shady Lawn, dentist and midwife appointments, Bible
studies, hosting relatives, and missing birthday parties and church. There are
some positive things about being home a lot. I am able to stay on top of the
everyday work better; yet the extra time with antibiotics and cleaning
bathrooms, and washing hand towels, and bedding, ect. takes up a lot of time
too. It has been good for Venesa as far as her potty going skills...she is doing
so great! I told Jason that she is doing so well that all her accidents now are
on the floor, right in front of the potty chair!
It looks like my birthday will be one
of the last full days of school...that will be a sweet day for the teacher.
:)
The first day of Spring came with a
dusting of snow, which was gone by noon. :)
Later... I am so glad that we did most of
today's school earlier in the week. We only had spelling and math tests this
morning. Of course I intend to do art classes over nap time. Ryan was able to go
with Jason this morning on some errands.
It snowed again this morning. Nothing is on
the ground though this time.
One other thing I could mention that may be
somewhat the result of us being home a lot is that I was thrilled to see that the
rash on Eric's legs is (I could almost say gone!) It just dawned on me that it
may be because his diet is easier to monitor when he is only eating what
I've prepared. But while I am rejoicing about that, I have to add that he is
suffering from a bad case of hives! We figured right away that it was from the
antibiotics... he is almost finished with them; but I read that it could be from
strep throat. It really complicated things to realize this morning that he is
running a fever. Fever is not a symptom of hives, so we need to know why he is
running a fever! Most likely cause is strep of course. He slept ok during the
night, but also tossed a lot at times too. I guess I never made it to my own bed
all night. The doctor will call us back with his advice, hopefully soon. Eric
was in such bad shape this morning I could've cried just looking at him. His
whole body looks bad, but his eyes were swollen, and his face looked like he'd
had a red drink accident! :( The fever bothers me more than the hives, although
I hate that he has to be so miserable.
The sun is coming out now. We had one
warm and windy day this week that the children really enjoyed! They even got the
sand box toys out.
I was able to get all the school books
ordered. Jason and I spent our date night last night ordering the rest of the
books from christianbook.com. I think
we saved money that way, especially since Jason found a way to get free
shipping. How I appreciate his help with such things! We are in need of a 'real'
date soon. Aren't making any plans just yet...
It is now less than 8 weeks till our
baby! It would be nice to get back to the midwife sometime before then! He is
doing fine as far as I know...must get hiccups at least 5 times a day!
Jason's parents and brother are
spending two weeks in Isreal right now! If we are healthy by the time they come
back, it would be fun to meet them at the air port!
Happy Spring to you.
