God's Blessings Are On Those That Obey Him

Thursday, December 15, 2011

We are getting more rain, and it is coming down in sheets! The sky looks pretty stormy. I checked the forecast for the rest of the month. It looks like it will be cold by Christmas, so if we have precipitation it should be either snow or freezing rain... I decided I like how we often get the most snow in January, because we have more time to enjoy it than we do at the end of the year.
This morning I got out a big box of toys that I stash away for several months. I enjoyed the children's delight at seeing toys they'd almost forgotten about! .( They seem especially impressed when they pull out a collection of similar stuff in a clear plastic bag.) Sometimes they will say.... "I was looking for that for a long time"
but I seriously doubt it.  :)  So now I am going around the house looking for more to hide away. I have to be careful that it isn't the most played with toys, though. If they do happen to ask for something, I will go find it and they are so glad mommy knew where it was!
Jason has been surprising me the last while with the most thoughtful, useful gifts! A body pillow I enjoy every night. Just like he hoped, I tend to choose the bed over the couch now. :)
The other two things were for the kitchen, a lovely ' plastic bag drying ' board and a cookbook holder that you can pull down from the cupboard when you need it! Oh I love it! He made those both himself.
You know , I don't really know what my girls are doing at the moment. :) Why does that make me uneasy?!
Actually, the children have amazed me several times in the last while by deciding to clean up all on their own, as a great surprise for me. (the first that has ever happened!) How I love the little people that run around my house everyday, messing up so much so they have a huge job when I say it is time to clean up!
That time is right now! It really helps when I ask Jason to comment on the results, even if he didn't see what it looked like before he came home. They still remember the time I told them that Daddy might not know if he got the right house! I asked Jason if he could play along with that... so he came in and looked around and said, "Did I get the right house!? It looks so nice and clean!"  It was funny to see the children's big eyes! It sure made an impression on them.
