God's Blessings Are On Those That Obey Him

Friday, July 20, 2012

This is the end of July now and several posts ago, back in May,  I was writing about how I was longing for rain. Wow! If you did not get any rain this last week...please forgive me if I happily say that we did! ( I know how it feels!) The tomatoes seem to be the only thing in the garden that was really affected by the drought.
Of course I watered alot, too. The five rows of beans are amazing...beautiful and full...and oh so much work!  :)
My sister invited me to go to some community garage sales today, but in the end I decided I really needed to stay at home today. :(  I did laundry yesterday in hopes of making time to go along, but guess what? I am doing laundry all day today too! Bed wetters and a little two year old that is learning that he needs to tell me before it happens!
The main thing that kept me home was the peaches I bought yesterday. They were seconds, and needed done NOW. I got what I paid for... They were awful to work with....BUT they are sooo delicious!
I started them at 7:00 this morning...(hanging onto a little hope that I could still go to garage sales...) but then my youngest sister called and asked if  I will be home today, wondering if she could come over to print out a stack of papers. I said I will be home...and relaxed a little and stopped trying to do the impossible....getting the peaches all canned by 10:00!  It was nice to get a chance to be with Clarisa...a bright spot in my 'not so great day'. ( I didn't mention the big milk spill, and soon after the 'accident' on the couch.) Not unusual happenings at our house...but remember the peaches I was dealing with!!
We went swimming one of the really hot days this week. Jason actually came from work and joined us! How fun to have the whole family in the water; even Venesa! Jason's swimming lessons sure were more successful than mine. Ryan might almost have it! I just need to take them more often this year. Eric got a kick out of  going up on the bank and then running as fast as he could into the water. Once I had to hold him for awhile after he stumbled and got his head under water several times.
The 'biggest' news we have to share is about a 'tiny' baby. I was very surprised one morning...the test had two lines. That same day (Jason didn't know about it yet) we both heard a girl's name that we never heard before, but thought was so pretty. He came home from work and mentioned that name, I could hardly believe it! Then I told him that we are having another baby. He could hardly believe that! So... someone asked me if I think we are having a girl?! Not necessarily.:)  We have both the girl and boy name decided, even the middle names. If we have a boy we will have an even number of boys and girls. If we have a girl, we will have twice as many girls as boys!
I know, we need to get with it- our family photo at the top of this blog doesn't even have Venesa yet.
The day I found out she wasn't going to be the baby for very long, was the day she turned five months.
I feel so blessed ( and overwhelmed too) I have some friends that long for a positive test, so it makes me wonder..."God, why doesn't that sweet surprise happen to them instead!? They've been waiting so long!"
I really should get out of the office now....Eric was running around outside with only a shirt....:( Oh dear! Sorry neighbors! He doesn't dress himself after getting off the potty.....
Oh, and those peaches..... I am dreading cutting up the ones I didn't can. I plan to freeze some for smoothies. The nicest ones I saved for eating.
The children have a big 'tent' in the living room. Lots of blankets everywhere. They want to sleep in it tonight. Since I've said "no" to enough things this week....I said "yes" much to their delight.
I had a fun date night with Jason last night...it is your turn to have a fun night!Last night was fun for them too.... at Jerry's house.
