I am finishing my breakfast while I sit here in the office. Jason is on the laptop, eating his breakfast too. Yesterday morning I rediscovered how good parfaits are! Ciara had used up the last drop of milk for her granola, and I hadn't eaten yet; but we had some yogurt and bananas. So, I made a parfait again this morning for us in the ice cream sundae glasses.
It has been a busy week! Not that I went away alot.... It has been the laundry this week that I couldn't seem to conquer! There is so much of it!! :) Folding clean clothes is something I sort of enjoy, especially children's clothes. Unless, (I might add) their under ware is full of holes and falling apart. Oh yes, same for the socks! Anyway, since today is another day to do laundry, the washer should be running...be back soon. Well, maybe! It is already time to get all the children up, give them breakfast, and start school.
Back again, but not for long... Math class is in session, and we should keep at school diligently this morning. When Jason comes back he will have some garden seeds. It is going to rain later today, so we will try to plant a few things first!
This afternoon we plan to go visit Jason's Grandpa. I thought maybe the children can take their art along for today. It is getting harder to visit with him, because he is not able to speak too well.
I should find something interesting for us to listen to with him. Something to make him smile.
They can sing a few songs for them too.
We invited Nathan & Juanakee over for supper and the evening last Sunday. Jason and I did a treasure hunt for the children. I guess Nathan helped Jason hide the treasure, so he was teasing the children that he and Jason would help themselves to the treasure(candy bars) while the children searched! I said that I'd try to protect it for them! :) It was a fun evening for us all.
Natasha came on Monday to spend the day one last time before she moves away.
Simon and Mary Lou (and children!) left on Wed. for NY. Jennika was suprised to know that I feel sad and cry sometimes because I miss them too! I told her we will have to sit on the couch and cry together....and eat chocolate candy bars! ( the mini kind! :) ) There is a card already on the way to NY for Natasha from Jen.
Jason helped the children build a teepee in the woods the other night. Then he gave us all Indian names. I am Mayflower...isn't it perfect!? My birthday is in May. I really wish this woods would have Mayflowers. I remember seeing them in our woods at home and in the woods at school where I played with my friends. Wow! Such warm memories, for some reason! Maybe because I knew school would soon be out...and I always really looked forward to the field trip....and my birthday.
Last week was really great, getting ready for a surprise baby shower for Marnita. It was at my house and she thought she was coming to a normal mom's group. We had games and one of our friends did the cute baby carriage cake. Lots of girly presents, too! Every one joined in to make it a success. I was so grateful for every ones contribution!
Our date last night was a very needful break in this 'not so great' week! I did not near get my work finished up before we had to leave, meaning I left a disorderly house....so I had to forget about it and try to focus on my husband and enjoy spending time with him! What a treat to go out to Applebees for supper, the two of us and Venesa. We used the gift card that was given to Jason for his thirtieth birthday. His parents kept the other children while we were out.
School is done!! I gave Ryan a break and decided not to do his Phonics today. He did 2 lessons of Math and pretty much Language Arts, including a test, so he worked hard enough already.
Art is so much fun...we don't consider it part of school, I guess......
Easter is right around the corner. And Spring is here! I am enjoying my tulips! This year the girls know not to pick the whole flower bed. I sent them out the other day to pick all the dandelions they could from the front yard! They loved it, and I was happy to have them gone! :) I meant the dandelions! :)
